Visits Suspended – 24 August 2020
As you know from previous communications, we regularly review our visiting policy during this global pandemic.
It has been great to welcome so many visitors back in to our homes in recent weeks and there is no doubt that our resident population have benefited greatly from the visits of friends and loved ones.
Whilst reviewing the current approach this morning the 24th August 2020 we took into consideration some local factors and the regional concerns that are being expressed. Based on this we have taken the decision to suspend visits to all our homes for a period of 7 days. The suspension will come in to effect from 7pm Monday 24th August 2020 until 9am on Tuesday 1st September 2020. The suspension means no bookings for visits will be made until the suspension ends (or is reviewed) but any visits scheduled up to 7pm on Tuesday 25th August will be honoured.
During this time of extra caution, I would ask you to work in harmony with the managers and staff teams in all our homes. Virtual visits and phone calls remain available and our staff in all homes will be happy to help facilitate these arrangements.
The safety and wellbeing of our resident population remains the priority and is the overriding factor in this decision. This decision will be reviewed regularly and any change to this will be shared as soon as possible.
I thank you all in advance for your understanding and continued patience at this very challenging time for everyone.
Eddy Kerr, Operations Manager
