Rest assured, they’ll feel at home

Hutchinson Care Homes was started by John and Adeleine Hutchinson with our first home, Clonlee Private Nursing Home opening in 1990. This was soon followed by the opening of Massereene Manor in 1997, a purpose built nursing home that had an extension built on in 2011, increasing the capacity of the home to 74 beds.  In 2005, Hutchinson Care Homes acquired Drummaul Private Nursing Home, which has since closed, and Glenkeen Private Nursing Home, based in Randalstown. 2013 was a big year for Hutchinson Care Homes as not only did we launch our Domiciliary Care Service, Hutchinson at Home, but we also acquired Ballyclare Private Nursing Home and Clareview Private Nursing Home, based on the Doagh Road in Ballyclare. The most recent addition to the Hutchinson Care Home group is Antrim Care Home, which we acquired in 2016.

At Hutchinson each of our six private nursing homes offers its own unique, character, charm and setting, with bright airy rooms and tranquil gardens.

Whichever home suits the individual needs of your loved ones, you can rest assured they’ll receive the same high level of safety and care, with a focus on basic values such as privacy, dignity, choice and rights – plus many personal touches to make everyone feel at home from the minute they arrive.

We know that how we look after the person you care about…is the only thing you really care about. Which means you’ll have many questions you’ll personally want to ask us. However, to give you an idea of the quality of our care services, here are just some of the things you can expect as standard in every Hutchinson Care Home;

  • Luxury bathrooms and toilets convenient to all bedrooms and designed to
    meet the needs of the elderly
  • Single rooms, many with en-suite, and a small number of double rooms
    to suit the needs of couples
  • Television points in all rooms
  • Excellent regularly stocked library, daily newspapers and internet access
  • Daily activities programme with dedicated activity nurse
  • Regular patient and relatives meetings to discuss the programme of
    activities and events
  • Hair and beauty salon in every home with visiting hairdressers and beauty therapists

Why not see for yourself? On a visit to any Hutchinson home we’ll give you a full tour of the rooms and facilities, introduce you to the highly trained staff and talk you through day-to-day life in the home and our programme of care as well as answer and questions you may have.

Partners in Care

Caring for the elderly isn’t just about looking after physical needs. With many of our patients suffering from dementia and other mental health illnesses we’re keen to go above and beyond our normal duty of care by working in partnership with Queens University, Coleraine University and Stirling University in their Nursing and Dementia studies. We have also built a strong relationship with The Alzheimers Society, working closely with them on their ‘Tomorrow is Another Day’ programme.
