‘If found on the ground drag me over the finish line‘ … the words of Iris Hume, Finance Director at Hutchinson Care Homes before she set off on Sunday 13 October with colleagues from the group on a punishing 5k run in aid of Cancer Focus NI completed at Titanic Slipway, Belfast.
Fortunately there was no dragging involved as Iris along with her colleagues including Nurse Manger Pepsi from Clonlee, Operations Manager Adeleine Carey, HR Officer Lois Carey and Hutchinson at Home Manager Lisa Gifford and many more fearless runners made it with aplomb over the finish line looking in control, picture perfect and well… pink !
Cancer Focus NI are Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity and they provide care and support services for cancer patients and their families; offering a range of cancer prevention programmes to help people lessen their risk of getting cancer; fund scientific research into the causes and treatment of the disease and campaign for better health policy to protect our community and its future.
Most of their work is funded through donations and fundraising so they couldn’t do it without the wonderful support of companies like Hutchinson Care Homes and Hutchinson at Home.
