Sweet Treats at Massereene Manor Helps Add Hydration for Residents
Massereene Manor have recently been trialling a relatively new product- Jelly Drops– to help increase water intake in the residents who need this support. Jelly Drops are designed mostly for people with dementia, elderly people and others who struggle with keeping hydrated.
Simply put Jelly Drops are award-winning sweets designed to boost hydration. They’re 95% water, sugar free and vegan with added electrolytes.
Inventor Lewis Hornby was inspired to create water sweets after his grandma Pat, who had dementia, was struggling to hydrate.
Jelly Drops have many properties that are perfect for those looking for a healthy snack. Not only do they contain 95% water and added electrolytes, helping to boost fluid intake, but they are also sugar-free, contain no artificial colours and are vegan. A delicious snack, many of our customers find them a perfect sugar-free alternative to traditional sweets.
With a fantastic solid, but smooth, texture – these sweets do not have a liquid centre – encouraging independent hydration for all, through a delicious snack.
In the initial trial seven boxes were ordered and the first box was consumed with gusto in the Broomhill Residential unit. It didn’t last very long and definitely got the seal of approval from the residents – Siobhan Barammeld swiftly ordered another seven boxes and they are now being enjoyed by residents throughout Massereene Manor.
