Congratulations to Sharon Smyth on her appointment as Safeguarding & Quality Improvement Director

We’re delighted to congratulate Sharon Smyth on her appointment as Safeguarding & Quality Improvement Director within the company, and we express our gratitude for her continued hard work and dedication.

Sharon has been an invaluable part of Hutchinson Care Homes for nearly a decade. She spent six years as Nurse Manager at Antrim Care Home, where her leadership and commitment in the role led her promotion to Community Services Lead in 2021.

In recognition for her exceptional work, Sharon was awarded the prestigious RCN Nurse of the Year award for the Independent Sector In 2022.

Sharon’s role has since evolved into Safeguarding & Quality Improvement Manager and more recently to Safeguarding & Quality Improvement Director where she plays a crucial role in governance across all homes, overseeing safeguarding and quality standards. With her wealth of experience and commitment to best practices, Sharon drives initiatives to implement effective practices that adhere to current legislation and uphold the highest standards of care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.
