St Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Clonlee Headlined by Shaun Goes Down a Treat and Great Craic had by all

There was great craic and plenty of laughter  at the Clonlee Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The evening was well supported by friends and families who came along to join in the celebrations and enjoy some of Clonlee’s tasty leprechaun stew which was followed by fairy apple tart and cream. Special guest and master of ceremonies for the evening was Shaun, the Leprechaun who made everyone welcome and dished out lots of hugs, but no gold unfortunately!
Castletown school of Irish dancers amazed us all with their high kicks and fast jigs and we were all enthralled with their talent. Then talk about leaving the best until last to finish the programme we had the pleasure of Joan Cosgrove, Ireland’s female answer to the late great James Young.
Joan had everyone laughing and giggling to all the old  jokes and yarns and could have yarned all night but there was a wee Leprechaun  waiting for to take her home…. more yarns again soon Joan to be sure, to be sure !
“I’m a little leprechaun dressed in green
The tiniest man you ever did see,
If you catch me it is told,
I’ll give to you a pot of gold.
Leprechaun stew, Leprechaun stew, if I don’t get some , i don’t know what I’ll do.
Give away my pot of gold, give away my shoes, but don’t give away my Leprechaun stew.”
