National Care Home Open Day a Stunning Success at Clonlee
Clonlee opened the doors to the public to celebrate all the great care and attention everyone gives to the residents in care on National Care Home Open Day
The weather was kind and there was a barbeque with all the trimmings served up by the cooks to all the residents, visitors and friends old and new.
Musical entertainment was provided by Antrim’s Men Shed, a local group of musicians who are very popular in Clonlee.
But the highlight of the afternoon was the sports and games on the lawn between the visitors and staff. There was stiff competition and even a wee bit of cheating on the egg and spoon race !
Prizes for the games were sponsored by Tesco – Thank You Leslie Kirkpatrick – the afternoon finished up with a water fight and it was every man and woman for themselves…..except for Audrey who came prepared with cover and a loaded water pistol and soaked all in sight.
We even had a visit from the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, John Smyth who called in and enjoyed the afternoon and said it was lovely seeing everyone enjoying the day.
A special word of thanks also to Islandbawn Shop for providing sweets and cakes for afternoon tea for everyone.
