Summer at Ballyclare Has Something for Everyone

Over the Summer season at Ballyclare we enjoyed the lovely weather and we held our family fun day with the Knock singers, a barbeque, bouncy castle and Irish dancing. Millers butchers in Ballyclare provided sausages for our barbeque and Blooms gave us two planters so a BIG THANK you to both shops.
We held a sponsored cycle with a bike set up on a turbo trainer 80 miles was the challenge all proceeds went to a charity of the homes choice. Action cancer £80 was raised.
We also had visits from Men’s Shed, and Dads Army  who entertained our residents over the Summer and the Knock singers returned for an afternoon’s engagement.
With the good weather we took advantage and began growing vegetables and flowers from seeds and clippings and everyone enjoyed watching them grow.

We visited the  Ulster Folk Musuem at Cultra and while the day itself was wet some delicious hot stew got us going while we also enjoyed the music and the smells of turf  and home baking.

Closer to home we made a visit to our local town hall in Ballyclare,  enjoyed hairdressing by Sharon and  visiting church with a different minister every week.
We also had some visitors to the home with rhythm and movement and Adrian our gospel singer  who comes to visit and the residents love to hear them sing.
