It’s All Happening at Clonlee as Christmas Approaches

There’s never a dull moment at Clonlee anytime of year but when it hits December the festive spirit kicks in and things move up a notch.. it’s party time !

Firstly it was time to celebrate Jane’s birthday party. It was a big surprise for her and she was delighted as she commented she never had a party in her honour before so she was chuffed to bits … discretion means we cannot reveal Jane’s age but she has confirmed it’s over 21!

We love visitors here at Clonlee and Dundrod Girls Brigade come early every Christmas to entertain the residents and get Christmas celebrations started in our home. The company has been coming regularly for 12 years and have never disappointed us as they bring such joy to the home. Group Captain Ruth McNaull said the girls practice from September and look forward to coming in and John one of the residents spoke eloquently and offered a word of thanks on behalf of everyone and wished them a Merry Christmas.

We just about caught our breath before we have another very frequent and welcome visitor….this time it was Courtney who visited us again to  entertain our residents. Boy did she entertain them as she had them all singing along to all the old favourite Christmas songs with Jingle Bells being the favourite!  The residents love Courtney visiting … especially Billy and Charlie who were in competition with each other for Courtneys attention!

Finally … for the moment …we welcomed  another of our faithful choirs who come every year to Clonlee to bring the Christmas story in songs and readings. Greyabbey Choir members arrived and as an added bonus they also had their children with them … everyone thought they were the stars of the show and resident Billy thanked them for coming and wished them all the joy of Christmas.

Phew .. think I need a lie down now !
