Wartime Theme a Big Success at Clareview National Care Home Open Day

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our National Care Home Open Day event on Friday 16th June.

This year, the theme of the event was friendship. So with that in mind Clareview residents and staff  invited longstanding friends of the home to join us for a Wartime themed lunch and music.

Staff dressed up in clothes from the era, and residents were delighted to see us in ‘fancy clothes’.

Activity Therapist Paula says “What’s worrying is I didn’t even have to buy anything vintage style to wear –  perhaps I should think about updating my wardrobe !”.

Residents and friends dined on wartime recipes of Corned Beef Fritters, Cauliflower Cheese & Bacon and Bread & Apple pudding.   Residents thoroughly enjoyed the food and said it was cooked as they remembered.

We were joined after lunch by our friend Ronnie McCullough and some of his friends who entertained us with a variety of well loved songs & hymns.
