They are planning to live the ‘Good Life’ at Ballyclare as Greenhouse Up and Running

Those of us of a certain vintage will remember fondly ‘The Good Life‘ – a British sitcom, produced by BBC television that ran from 1975 to 1978 and was written by Bob Larbey and John Esmonde. Opening with the midlife crisis faced by Tom Good, a 40-year-old London plastics designer, it relates the joys and miseries he and his wife Barbara experience when they attempt to escape modern commercial living by “becoming totally self-sufficient” in their home in Surbiton.

Well at Ballyclare they are well on their way to a certain level of ‘self sufficiency’ as the greenhouse is up and running. The residents and staff have planted tomatoes, lettuce, runner beans and  broccoli  to begin with.

Everyone is looking forward to tasting the rewards of all the hard work. Well done to everyone involved.
