Drummaul Resident Harry Reid Picks Up IHCP Flourishing Award

We are used to by now hearing of the awards that the group or staff of Hutchinson Care Homes pick up which is testimony to our investment in training and the dedication of our staff. But here’s an award with a difference – it’s for a resident !

Harry Reid age 91 was nominated for the Flourishing award by Manager Maria Bothwell and Deputy Manager Sarah Brady.

Harry came to live with us at Drummaul House after nursing his wife until she passed on with cancer. Harry has shown great improvements in weight gain and health since coming to live here at Drummaul House. Harry is always ready to give a hand in any activities going on within the Home and he especially enjoys setting up the bingo, singing solo and gardening in his green house.

It is real a pleasure to have Harry here with us as he enjoys cheering up and encouraging the other residents and helping out as much he can.

In the past the annual award has been for staff members but this year the charity IHCP changed the award to give recognition to residents in nursing homes .

This finalist award is to credit Harry for all he does in the home and to thank him for all he does on a daily basis.

The award was presented to Harry Reid by the Chief Executive of IHCP, Pauline Shepherd.
