Clonlee receives Visit from Local Mayor to Celebrate National Care Homes Open Day

There were many laughs and smiles at the recent National Care Homes Open Day in Clonlee. The event is held in June to let the community, friends and family see what a nursing home environment is like. So it was no bother to Clonlee to throw open wide the doors and invite our friends, old and new and the wider community to come and be informed. Men’s Shed provided the music and entertainment and we were so delighted when our newly elected Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Paul Hamill called in to spend the afternoon with us. He remarked at the happy and friendly atmosphere in the home and congratulated Pepsi on such high standard of care he witnessed during his visit. All the residents were so pleased to see him and talked about it all afternoon.

Everyone at Clonlee looks forward to this event every year as it is about connecting with people and reminding people that care homes in every corner are filled with unique, intelligent and charming characters and run by special people that really do care.
A big thanks to the Mayor for coming and thanks also to Men’s Shed for making this such a great day.
